, mai 2012: The rooms were comfortable. The provision of tea and coffee was generous, although something caffeine-free would have been welcome. It was hard to find the sockets, which proved to be hidden behind a chest of drawers. Wholemeal bread could be provided for breakfast. It was all in all a very pleasant brief stay.

, avril 2012: A really enjoyable stay. Would definitely come back.

, avril 2012: Great value for money. I will definitely stay again.

, mars 2012: It would have been nice to have wi FI but it is a very nice place to stay. Thank you

, février 2012: We very much enjoyed our stay, it was very comfortable, peaceful and well organised. I felt it was a very special place with the cloisters and lovely chapel and look forward to staying again. If you would like some constructive comments then the breakfast buffet could be healthier and tastier, e.g. better quality wholemeal bread, low fat spread, soya milk, fruit juice, all bran, porridge, and tinned fruit such as prunes. I would also like to recommend fairly traded tea and coffee in the rooms and dining hall as they are ethical and in keeping with the ethos of the place. There was no cooked breakfast available.

, février 2012: I was concerned about sharing bathrooms but it was fine all spotlessly clean as was room, we had a fabulous time, thank you.

, février 2012: If you are a student or a young traveller and don't mind shared bathroom, it's a good choice for you.

, février 2012: really friendly college, very helpful. would definitely stay again!

, décembre 2011: I enjoyed to stay at this quiete place. All accommodations where clean, the bathroom well equipped and newly renovated. The fivteen minute walk to the inner part of the city was perfect and could be shortened by taking the bus. A very nice indian restaurant close by added to my good memories.

St Stephen's House has a very pleasant atmosphere and was very comfortable and good value. The Cowley Road is well stocked with useful shops too. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone, although as my room was ensuite (and very nice) I can't say what the other facilites would be like..

, mai 2011: very relaxing will placed would use again many thanks

, avril 2011: Surroundings and architecture of building good. Furnishings in room a little drab. Served its purpose. Not able to give a score for breakfast as did not stay for it.

, avril 2011: Room was very good as was breakfast each day. Kitchen staff very nice. We had a lovely aspect from our room. It was quiet and peaceful and we appreciated being able to come and go as we liked. Very handy to city centre bus - comes around every 10 minutes. Also very handy to local restaurants, Tesco and Sainsbury.

, avril 2011: Ideal for a short stay in Oxford. Parking facility was most appreciated in a town that hates cars.

, février 2011: It suited us well. Convenient and reasonable for Oxford.

, décembre 2010: Oxford won our hearts, St Stephen's was our home away from home for our stay there. It was clean comfortable and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

, décembre 2010: The place is very nice, warm (in both sense of the term), very very convenient, and quiet and peaceful (notice that I was there on vacation-term). I would recommend it warmly and will definitively stay there if I have to come back to Oxford.

I will look forward to visit St Stephen's again.

, novembre 2010: We had a small twin room with shared facilities. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The bathrooms were close and clean. Breakfast was very good and the few people we met were friendly. It was good to be able to stay in the centre of Oxford. Excellent value for money.

, novembre 2010: Great place to stay. Thank you

, novembre 2010: Had a very comfortable stay, thank you.

, novembre 2010: We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider renting a university room again if we should return to Oxford in the future.

, octobre 2010: Met some very interesting people at breakfast which was a fine meal. Would have been useful to know that the bus for Heathrow and Gatwick stopped very close by to St. Stephens. Could be included in notes sent to guests.

, octobre 2010: Exceptionally quiet over the weekend. I will come again.

, octobre 2010: A quiet and peaceful experience - would like to visit again

, octobre 2010: Excellent value and great facilities--only thing missing was a TV in the room! I will definitely book with you when I plan to be in Oxford again! thanks for everything!

, octobre 2010: It was slightly impersonal, as you don't meet anyone on arriving or leaving. But I can see how that is necessary for this type of accommodation. Breakfast was good - Soy Milk was provided, without having to arrange in advance, this is the only accomm in the UK that provided it. thanks, Kylie

, octobre 2010: Dear Sir or Madame, At first we were a bit sceptical of staying in a college, but it was really a pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the room service was good. We particularly liked the peacefull atmosphere. The only thing was the continental breakfast, which did not have much variation. If you don`t like English breakfast, there was not much choice left. I`m sure, we will chose college accommodation again.

, octobre 2010: Great idea for place to stay - everyone there was very helpful. Elaborate security systems took a bit of figuring out, but I suspect they are necessary.

, octobre 2010: Great to be able to park during the stay. Easy to organise and really useful to be able to stay during term time - it meant we were close at hand when my son, who has Asperger's Syndrome, started in Corpus Christi College. Beuatiful view over the cloisters too. Thank you!

, octobre 2010: It was a very nice experience. I felt like I'm a student again. My former school was a monestary as well, so I felt right at home. The place oozes knowledge. I would highly recommend it. Thank you! P.S. The instructions were very easy to follow which shouldn't be underestimated.

, octobre 2010: We loved the Bishop's Room - the others in the single rooms found them rather small, but adequate for one night, and we all appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms. Residents of St Stephens were most friendly towards us. It was a huge advantage to be able to use the car park. We liked the peaceful atmosphere, and will certainly try to stay here again when next in Oxford.

, octobre 2010: Comfortable bed and a good breakfast served by friendly chef

, octobre 2010: The location was great, enjoyed "edgy" part of town, Cowley Road. Staff friendly and helpful - room a bit noisy at times as right opposite front door, where everyone had to enter. Minor gripe though, would stay again, and recommend it. About a 10-15 minute walk to central Oxford, but very enjoyable walk, and could easily get sidetracked onto other accessible beautiful riverside etc. walks. Will use University Rooms again, excellent idea for travellers out of semester time.

, septembre 2010: My only problem was finding the way in from the car park to the main reception - I didn't find the instructions very easy to follow having walked round the cloisters twice! In the end, I had to walk out of the car park and round the block to the main entrance - but no serious problem. Overall clean and very convenient for town centre

, septembre 2010: Car park was crowded on the first day, but the room and breakfast was fine...

, septembre 2010: The room and toilets were very clean.

, septembre 2010: Very comfortable, clean and quiet with good en suite facilities. Location great for walking into Town Centre. Lots of local places to eat.

, septembre 2010: A lovely stay very relaxing and peaceful. The beds were extremely comfy which is not the case in many hotels. We felt very privileged to stay in such a beautiful building. Oxford certainly does have the wow factor. We hope to be back again soon.

, septembre 2010: Very efficient, very clean, made to feel welcome. Lovely and quiet, a slightly earlier than 8.30 cooked breakfast would have been good. Overall though a recommended place for those who want a quiet night.

, septembre 2010: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room and bathroom facilities were spotless. The location was great with a choice of great restaurants around the corner and the centre of Oxford very easily accessible!

, septembre 2010: Wonderfully quiet, no tv was a blessing. Very clean. Would defenitely use St Stephen's House again.

, septembre 2010: We enjoyed our stay at St Stephen's. Good location and very handy to be able to park securely. We did get a little lost in the Cloisters but were rescued by some Good Samaritans! Would stay again.

, septembre 2010: The organisation was fantastic and although there was no one present over the weekend it was easy to access and the perfect accomodaton for our weekend in Oxford.

, septembre 2010: I enjoyed my stay at St. Stephen's House, Oxford. The room is clean and the ambiance is quiet. It is located very near to Cowloy Road, where we can get "almost everything" I needed (i.e., groceries, cafes, etc.). It is a very "value for money" experience. Thanks!

, septembre 2010: Comfortable, quiet, clean, fantastic parking, excellent value, this was our second visit and we will return.

, septembre 2010: It would be great if the breakfast can start a bit earlier, like 8:00. Overall, it is a very pleasant stay and the envirnoment is excellent. Cleaning lady and kitchen staff are very friendly.

, août 2010: We had a great stay, no problems at all, thank you very much!

, août 2010: I would book here again. It was very peaceful, but then it was holiday time. Excellent base for seeing Oxford with a short bus ride or a 20 minute moderate walk. The walk seems shorter as there is so much to see on the way in to the main shopping area. Our stay was enjoyable. The museums were fabulous

, août 2010: Very plesant, quiet atmosphere, excellent breakfast, friendly staff.

, août 2010: A beautiful college and a very peaceful stay.

, août 2010: Staff were very friendly and helpful.

, août 2010: The room was cosy and clean, and the overall service was efficient. I would definitely stay at St Stephen's House in future.

, août 2010: Good to see Fairtrade products being used. Staff all very helpful and friendly.

, août 2010: A surprisingly straightforward booking process, clear instructions provided about access to the buildings etc. Would happily book again should the need arise. St Stephen's House is magnificent.

, août 2010: very good accommodation for price paid. breakfast was very good . would book again and would recommend it.

, août 2010: A superb facility! Lovely clean rooms, friendly & helpful staff, great value for money and breakfast - what more could you ask for!

, août 2010: St. Stephen's House offers good quality no-nonsense accomodation and breakfast. My en-suite single bedroom had an excellent new shower. I enjoyed staying in and walking around the cloisters. It was also nice to stay in an area just outside the centre and experience another part of Oxford.

, août 2010: We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights at St Stephens, and would recommend anyone using this type of accommodation. The history and learned atmosphere just seep in !Peaceful and quiet and an easy walk to town. Enjoyed using the kitchen for evening meals.

, août 2010: A lovely peaceful stay in delightful surroundings, just one comment for improvement which would be a glass in the bedroom for water. Have already recommended you to a friend who often stays in Oxford.

, août 2010: Car park is very interesting and good value for money. Quiet place to stay.

, août 2010: Very pleased with the accommadation, clean and comfortable, ideal for a short stay, would perhaps be a little cramped during an extended visit. Super shower, enjoyed the tea and coffee, but missed the biscuits. Many thanks for an excellent full "English" breakfast. All much appreciated. Only joking about the biscuits!

, août 2010: St Stephen's House is a wonderful place to stay, with its peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to any one and will certainly stay there again if I have the opportunity.

, juillet 2010: The room was clean and comfortable with good shower. The breakfast was very good in a friendly atmosphere. I enjoyed good walks to the city centre. My first visit to Oxford was excellent. I will recommend the rooms to friends.

, juillet 2010: I cannot rate the standard of breakfast, because I never had. I attended a Conference that started at 8:30. A more flexible breakfast time would have been of help.

, juillet 2010: Very pleasant accomodation, quiet and sufficient. Fantastic atmosphere of the old buildings. Very clean room and facilities. Thank you very much Neil

, juillet 2010: I had a very pleasant stay! Thank you!

, juin 2010: This was a very friendly college. I was invited to the faculty tea which was the staff at the theological college. Had a wonderful night talking to a great variety of people and views. why else would you travel.

, juin 2010: I was very happy with all aspects of my stay in St Stephen's house. I did not have breakfast there, but there is no option to tick for this above

, juin 2010: There was a lovely peaceful atmosphere at St Stephen's.

, juin 2010: Lovely quiet peacful room and tranquill atmosphere in a very busy city.

, juin 2010: Very convenient location and good value for money. Recommended!

, juin 2010: My stay at St.Stephen's House was truly memorable and went beyond just being a place to stay. It was also a strong spiritual experience and I took part in Masses, formal dinner and part of the Open Day. The opportunity to talk to some of the students and staff re-invigorated my faith and I found the friendliness of everybody made me feel very at home. The breakfasts were great - good coffee too!! I certainly enjoyed my walks to the University and Town centre although buses were incredibly frequent. Thank you to everyone there and I will be back.

, juin 2010: Very peacuful, comfortable bed Exceptionally clean Jolly atmosphere at breakfast, but not intrusive

, juin 2010: Conveniently located a nice walk from town centre. Roomy and spotless. Comfortable beds and great shower. Breakfast was good and evening meals were excellent value for money. Appreciated access to computer room, TV lounge and laundry facilities. Very restful given requirement for silence from 11pm to 7:30am! Students and staff so busy that opportunity for conversation very limited.

, juin 2010: So very pleased with my stay here. A quiet, clean place. A short walk to the city center, or to bus stops if you prefer. Excellent parking facilities for a car to explore the nearby countryside. I forgot a piece of jewelry in the room when I left. It was found and sent to me by post. Very pleased with this experience!

, juin 2010: We had an excellent time with a superb breakfast. A very easy stroll in to Oxford. Thanks you

, juin 2010: Our second visit - very good in every way except for the noise from revellers outside. It did not make a for a good night's sleep but there's nothing you can do about that, I know! It won't put us off recommending or returning to St Stephen's House.

, juin 2010: The confirmation email from St Stephen's Hall did not list the rooms I had booked back in January; however the staff on our arrival were very helpful. This was a reunion of 1959 freshmen from Liverpool University, who much enjoyed the experience of life in an Oxford College today, so thank you all.

, juin 2010: We enjoyed our stay at St. Stephen's House. Our room was on a small hall with only 3 rooms, ours being the only one occupied. Because of that our bathroom and shower were almost private. The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious.

, juin 2010: The people at the college were lovely and attentive. I had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it to any & all.

, juin 2010: We really enjoyed our stay at St. Stephen's House and look forward to a return visit.

, mai 2010: We have not booked through University rooms before and I am pleased to say we were delighted with the experience. The information given about booking in went very smoothly. The room was clean and well presented. Both the dinner and the breakfast was good and the catering staff were very friendly. The location was good and we very much enjoyed the location. We shall definately book again in the future and recommend this option to friends rather that going to an impersonal hotel. Thank you.

, mai 2010: The twin room was very clean. The bedding was also very clean. Our breakfast was scrumptious and there was plenty of it. It was nice to have a choice of breakfasts too. We had a very enjoyable stay and would book again if we ever choose to revisit Oxford.

, mai 2010: My daughter is home-schooled and we needed somewhere tranquil to stay the night before her IGCSE Maths exam at Oxford Tutorial College. St Stephen's was the perfect setting. A pleasure to stay in such peaceful surroundings and to 'go behind the veil' of Oxford University, as it were. Many Thanks from Bernadette and Sophie, Surrey.

, mai 2010: An enjoyable stay. Conveniently situated for centre of Oxford, but in a quiet location. May well consider using again.

, mai 2010: Staying at St Stephen's House was so convenient and really reasonably priced for its location. I was attending my graduation so for the overnight stay it was perfect. So much better than a rather souless budget hotel- there was a real feel of friendliness and character about the place. Many thanks.

, mai 2010: Friendly and helpful staff on arrival (even though after 5), quiet and comfortable room, peaceful in cloisters, and handy for buses and food, too. Breakfast was late for me, and I prefer a continental breakfast anyway, so it was good to learn that I could eat earlier; it would be helpful to have this information on website.

, mai 2010: An excellent place to stay for quiet and reflection.Friendly and welcoming staff and students. No more grotty B n B joints on the Iffley Road for me !.Also great for nearby pubs and eateries.

, mai 2010: Rooms are very clean and comfortable, in a very quiet environment. Excellent breakfast. Reasonably near city centre 15-20 minutes walk or a short Taxi ride. All in all excellent value for money.

, avril 2010: A basic little room but clean and with everything I needed. On reflection, I should have booked an en-suite as bumping into theology students while running out of the shower was a little embarrassing for them as much as me! Breakfast was tasty (more food would have been nice though as the bread on offer was the cheap sliced variety and I cant eat that so would have liked more bacon instead) and I loved the long tables which gave the opportunity to speak to other people who were staying there. A fab location - took some great photos of the cloisters and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere a bit different.#

, avril 2010: Staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and a very relaxed atmosphere.

, avril 2010: Thank you for a woderful stay at Stephens house. It was one of the best and the most pieceful "hotel-nights I´ve had. I have already told my friends about it and recomended it to them and my collegues.

, avril 2010: At St. Stephens there is a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Peaceful location. Convenient for city centre - 15 minute walk or very short bus ride. The accommodation was comfortable and clean.

, mars 2010: St Stephen's House gave me a refreshing few days of quietness and calm. The staff are kind and create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I particularly appreciated the crisply laundered bed linen.

, mars 2010: My experience at St. Stephen's House for ten weeks was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful, the room was very comfortable and the facilities were very clean and convenient. The daily breakfast was first-class. It is also an excellent location.

, mars 2010: St. Stephen's House was very nice and close enough to the city center for a pleasant walk through a fun part of town in the mornings. The staff was very kind. I would certainly stay here again!

, mars 2010: A truly lovely place to stay, and everyone couldn't have been nicer.

, mars 2010: Booking online can be a daunting experience but booking with university rooms was easy. The website information is clear. There is opportunity to change requirements should it be necessary. Queries were answered promptly and calmed any worry I might have had about the stay. We arrived before 5.00pm and we were shown to our room by a helpful member of the admin staff. The room was clean and tidy. The towel with complimentary soap, shower gell and shampoo was a nice grace note. The breakfast was supereb! The college is only 15 mins walk from the main area of town and yet it was a peaceful place to stay. We had a great time and will be staying again at some time in the future. Tessa Clarke

, mars 2010: We had a wonderful time, everything was well organized and everyone was very helpful. The room and facilities very clean, not fancy, but adequate , quiet and enjoyable. I do think in all fairness , that they were a tad expensive, However, thoroughly enjoyed our stay

, mars 2010: We would use this accommodation again - it was simple, clean, quiet and peaceful with secure parking. keith Fulford

, mars 2010: It was extremely pleasing to stay in a quiet, comfortable, very clean and well appointed setting within the heart of Oxford. The safe parking was a fantastic bonus and the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful.

, mars 2010: I found my two night stay in St. Stephen's House very enjoyable. The room was comfortable, very clean. The breakfast was delicious. I was there during the the Advent Retreat and being asked not to speak in public areas (including the refectory) on my first day probably added to the whole experience!

, mars 2010: I loved my stay at St Stephen's! Loved walking through the cloisters - a serene and beautiful setting. Loved that there was a bustling main street just a stone's throw away with lots of shops and good restaurants. Loved the whole experience. Thanks a million!

, mars 2010: A good way to visit Oxford without spending too much money and a good opportunity to see something of the university facilities.

, février 2010: We were a group of 5 and needed 3 seperate rooms. The breakfast was outstanding. You don't pay your chef enough. The location, access, and accommondations suited us all well. We think we got a bargin price. We would use it again. Pastor Wayne Clarke

, février 2010: We decided that the lady in administration was the most helpful person of anyone we encountered at a hotel, B&B, or rooming facility on our trip. She gave us excellent directions, and lent us materials to pack up some books we bought to send home. She really went the extra mile for us!

, février 2010: My stat at St. Stephen's was wonderful! Very friendly staff, great rooms and excellent breakfast! This place is one of my favourite places in Great Britain!

, février 2010: We love staying in uni rooms but we would not recommend to friends unless we knew they did not mind basic accomodation. Our stay was in an excellent position for walking to Oxford centre.

, février 2010: St Stephen's was a fantastic place to stay, thanks! The ladies who cleaned our rooms were particularly nice and very helpful. I was extremely happy with the online service and ease of booking and checking in/out - my first visit to Oxford was WONDERFUL, thank you.

, octobre 2009: It would be helpful to allow new arrivals to purchase an additional breakfast as we arrived after an overnight flight and had to go out to find breakfast on our first day. Staff were very helpful and polite. Information on using the telephone especially the fact that one needs to dial 9 for an outside line would have also been useful. Overall very good value for money and we would recommend it to others. Many thanks. PS We also found the Cowley Church SS Mary and John and visited it which was a wonderful bonus to our nostalgic trip in the wartime footsteps of our parents, Meriel Bradford

, septembre 2009: St Stephen's is a comfortable walk from the centre and therefore a very convenient base. The opportunity to park on site is also a great plus. The single ensuite room was fantastic - clean, bright and practical. The double rooms varied - one was excellent, the other rather cramped and hot. Nevertheless, our overall experience was very positive. Beautiful, peaceful setting. Excellent breakfast with plenty of food for children (who invariably wanted seconds!). Everyone was very helpful. Our visit gave our eldest son a chance to look around the Oxford colleges before applying this October. The whole experience (including the weather) was memorable. Thank you!

, septembre 2009: We enjoyed our stay at St Stephen's House and found it a good venue for our reunion. The evening meal was prepared especially for us and served in the dining hall. The food and service were excellent. We were able to relax in the the common room and also sit outside in the gardens. The staff we met were very welcoming and happy to answer our questions about St Stephens House. The bedrooms were basic but very clean with modern ensuite facilities. The atmosphere of the House was very quiet and peaceful and benefitted from being in a more residential area away from the city centre.

, août 2009: The staff was very helpful, even finding and offering us some gluten-free bread! We had a great time, we loved the library, the courtyards, and the general atmosphere of the place. Perhaps the library door and computer room door should be on the welcome letter for out of hours guest access. We'd love to come back.

, août 2009: A fascinating building to explore. Loved the common room and made good use of it. Duvet was really too thick for hot summer night. A blanket and sheets may be a more flexible option. Hopping across corridor to shower and bathroom wasn't a problem, expect for the light that required movement every 10 seconds! Shower was a redeeming feature.

, août 2009: Clean, comfortable, rooms with pleasant staff, quiet and within walking distance from town. What more could you ask?

, août 2009: We realy enjoyed our stay with you and I am sure I could not have found a better place for value for money and the efficency of your booking service. We came to Oxford for a wedding and talking to some of the other guests there they were not realy happy with their accomodation nor the price they had had to pay for it. Thanks Catherine

, août 2009: A had a nice, quiet, tidy room for a reasonable prize.
